Reports: Kamala Is Looking for Excuse to Cancel Debate

With less than a week to go until the first presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, the drama is already heating up. The showdown is scheduled for September 10 at 9 p.m. ET, hosted by none other than ABC News. But as we inch closer to the big night, the Harris campaign is still busy nitpicking over the debate rules, sparking some raised eyebrows. Are they looking for an excuse to back out?

One of the sticking points? Microphones. Harris’ team insists they stay on, even after her allotted time to speak is up. Because why not? More time to dodge real questions, perhaps. Meanwhile, the Trump team has already agreed to the rules as they stand. After all, what’s the point of debating if you’re just going to change the rules to suit your comfort? Trump, as always, came prepared, offering Harris multiple debates, but she’s only managed to accept one. And surprise, surprise—she’s already pushing the boundaries.

As if ducking debates wasn’t enough, Harris is once again hiding from the press and voters. For the rest of the week, she’ll be conveniently locked away in “debate prep.” Because, you know, it takes a lot of work to avoid answering questions about actual policies. In contrast, Trump is out there engaging with voters, getting ready to participate in a town hall with Fox News’ Sean Hannity this Wednesday. Quite the difference in approach, isn’t it?

It’s almost as if Harris is more interested in avoiding scrutiny than facing off with Trump. You have to wonder what her strategy really is—preparing for debate or preparing to dodge the hard questions. After all, it’s much easier to stay behind closed doors than to be held accountable on a national stage. Meanwhile, Trump continues to show he’s not afraid to face the public.

So, as the debate day approaches, the contrast couldn’t be clearer. Trump is ready to engage, and Harris is hoping she can skate by with as little confrontation as possible. But at some point, she’s going to have to step up to the plate—or keep running from the fight. Either way, the American people are watching, and they can tell who’s actually showing up.
