Kamala Accidentally Throws Biden Under the Bus

Vice President Kamala Harris, in a rare moment of candor, admitted to a small group of supporters on Friday that the cost of food has been “too high” under President Biden’s watch. It’s almost as if someone on her team finally decided to acknowledge what the rest of us have been living through.

During a campaign stop in Raleigh, NC, Harris tried to address the ongoing pain at the grocery store, conceding, “We all know that prices went up during the pandemic when the supply chains shut down and failed, but our supply chains have now improved and prices are still too high.” No kidding, Kamala. But don’t get too excited—she’s not about to give Trump any credit for his economic management, despite admitting that a loaf of bread is now 50% more expensive than it was before the pandemic.

Of course, Harris didn’t miss the chance to blame everyone but the current administration for these price hikes. She pointed the finger at “bad actors,” like “big food companies” and “grocery store chains,” accusing them of pocketing record profits instead of passing savings on to the struggling consumers. What she didn’t mention, though, is the role of inflation—a topic she only grazed over when she briefly celebrated that it’s supposedly “down under 3%” now. Conveniently forgetting that under Biden’s leadership, we experienced inflation levels not seen in 40 years, peaking at a whopping 9.1% in June 2022.

Harris also unveiled her economic plan for her first 100 days if she lands the presidency—though the rollout was more of a whisper than a roar, with just about 250 attendees showing up at Wake Tech Community College, as reported by WBTV. It seems like the enthusiasm for her proposals might be as high as her popularity ratings.

Among her ideas is a $25,000 handout for first-time homebuyers and a controversial “first-ever federal ban on price gouging on food.” Because clearly, nothing says economic savior like more government intervention. It’s almost as if she’s hoping people won’t notice the irony in blaming businesses while the government’s policies fuel the fire.
