Halperin: Kamala In Serious Trouble in Wisconsin

Mark Halperin, once a prominent media figure bouncing from ABC News to MSNBC, is making his way back into the public sphere with a new video platform called 2Way, where he now publishes his content on X and YouTube. Known for his sometimes controversial takes—like predicting Trump’s win in 2016 when most were writing him off—Halperin has navigated a turbulent career. His downfall came swiftly in 2017 after multiple allegations of sexual harassment surfaced, costing him his job at NBC. Since then, he’s dipped into various media ventures, from Substack to an analyst role at Newsmax, but his latest move seems to be making a bit of a splash.

In his latest 2Way broadcast, Halperin laid out some rather intriguing predictions about the 2024 battleground states, forecasting an uphill battle for Kamala Harris. According to his sources, Harris is unlikely to win Georgia, North Carolina, or Arizona. While that’s not exactly earth-shattering—polls have shown Trump with a slight edge in these states—Halperin’s insight on the blue wall states added an interesting layer to the discussion.

The stakes, as Halperin framed it, come down to Harris’s reliance on Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania to reach that magic 270 electoral votes. He pointed out that even if Harris scrapes by in Pennsylvania, a loss in Wisconsin could spell the end of her White House hopes. Citing three insiders, including one Democrat, he noted that these sources would be “somewhere between surprised and shocked” if Harris actually pulls off a win in Wisconsin. That perspective aligns with recent polling from a GOP outfit, OnMessage, which shows Trump narrowly ahead in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and tied in Michigan.

Looking at the polling averages, FiveThirtyEight has Harris ahead by a razor-thin 0.9% in Wisconsin, while RealClearPolitics has her lead at a measly 0.2%. In other words, this race is as close as it gets, and a swing of just a few thousand votes could tip the scales either way. Halperin’s sources appear to believe that Wisconsin, in particular, could be the tipping point in this election, as Harris’s hold on that crucial state seems to be slipping.

So, Halperin’s message to anyone watching closely? Don’t take your eyes off Wisconsin. It’s the kind of state that could settle the entire election. If Harris stumbles there, her path to victory might just vanish, leaving the Democrats scrambling to explain how a Midwest state once firmly in their column ended up costing them the presidency.
