Dems Prioritize Affordable Housing for Illegals Over Americans

Democratic politicians across the nation seem to be on a mission to put illegal migrants into housing that could otherwise be available for young Americans. This move is happening under the guise of compassion, but it’s leaving many citizens scratching their heads—and digging deeper into their pockets.

Take California, for example. The state’s Democratic Assembly has pushed forward legislation that hands out homebuyer tax breaks to illegal migrants, courtesy of Rep. Joaquin Arambula, who represents a low-income Latino constituency. The justification? According to Arambula, these benefits will help illegal migrants secure “financial security and personal stability” for themselves and their families. Meanwhile, this giveaway is poised to make life even harder for the majority of American-born families in California, who are already struggling with skyrocketing housing costs. Over 85 percent of these families earn less than $80,000 a year and spend more than 30 percent of their income just to keep a roof over their heads.

But California isn’t the only place where this trend is taking root. In Canada, the government’s mass migration policies have driven up housing costs so much that young Canadians are finding it nearly impossible to buy homes. This has led to a lower birth rate and a swelling homeless population. Even Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has admitted that this policy shift is transferring wealth to older investors at the expense of younger generations, who are now facing a future without the financial security their parents enjoyed through home ownership.

Meanwhile, in Oregon, things have taken an even more bizarre turn. Democrats there have funded a contractor offering $30,000 to help non-citizens buy homes, blatantly disregarding federal laws that prohibit discrimination against American citizens. GOP legislator Rep. Ed Diehl couldn’t have said it better when he called it “UNREAL,” adding that it’s outrageous for taxpayer funds to be used to prioritize home ownership for illegal migrants over struggling American citizens.

And then there’s Kamala Harris, who’s been busy promoting her “Opportunity Economy,” a plan that includes giving first-time homebuyers a cool $25,000 to help with their down payments. Of course, she didn’t specify whether this handout is exclusively for American citizens, leaving room for speculation that illegal migrants might also benefit from this largesse. GOP vice-presidential candidate JD Vance didn’t mince words when he tweeted that Harris wants to give $25,000 to illegal aliens to buy American homes, a move that would only worsen the housing shortage for citizens. Although PolitiFact tried to challenge Vance’s claim, Harris’s camp has yet to deny it, and given the Democrats’ ongoing commitment to reshaping America through mass migration, a denial doesn’t seem likely.

This is all part of a larger pattern. Since 2021, the Biden administration has welcomed roughly 10 million migrants—legal, illegal, and quasi-legal—into the country. That’s nearly three migrants for every four American births. And in many cities and states, Democrats are also providing rental subsidies to ensure these migrants can settle in comfortably, further squeezing Americans out of the housing market.

In the end, this relentless push to prioritize illegal migrants over American citizens seems less about compassion and more about a political agenda that leaves everyday Americans footing the bill.
