Josh Hawley is raising some eyebrows, thanks to a whistleblower from the Secret Service who claims Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally in Wisconsin was canceled due to what looks like sabotage by political opponents. According to this whistleblower, the official excuse was that the agency didn’t have “sufficient assets” to guarantee Trump’s safety. Convenient, right?
Hawley isn’t buying it. In a letter, he called out the Secret Service, stating that these whistleblower allegations put the agency’s public assurances into question. Hawley reminded everyone that the Secret Service had publicly said Trump was receiving “the highest level of protection” available to any former president. But if that’s true, why was the agency suddenly unable to cover Trump’s event in a critical battleground state?
Hawley went on to note the odd timing. Just as the Secret Service claimed it couldn’t protect Trump at a Wisconsin rally, they had no problem securing a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris in Madison, Wisconsin, on the very same day. Hawley, echoing the whistleblower, pointed out that a sitting president would never face this kind of issue—something doesn’t add up, and it raises questions about political interference.
Adding fuel to the fire, other whistleblowers with insight into Secret Service planning procedures claim it’s highly unusual to fail to provide protection for a major public event. They suggest it’s practically unheard of, especially for someone running for president. If these allegations are true, it’s a glaring double standard and flies in the face of the Secret Service’s public statements.
This isn’t just a matter of campaign logistics; it’s about fairness and whether the Secret Service is being weaponized for political purposes.
